Some more LAMBADA details

Here are a few comments about our catamaran LAMBADA to add to the information you have seen on our website. LAMBADA cannot really be compared to any of the other catamarans for at least four different reasons: the quality of the hull, the volume, the layout and the fact that LAMBADA can be operated as a private boat as well as a long term or day charter for 6 guests.

The quality of the building:
The hull has been built in Sandwich RED CEDAR & EPOXY on a male mould. This building method is very expensive but the advantage is, that it excludes all problems of osmosis, blisters or delaminating. Read more about this construction method.

There are also two crash boxes. A boat build that way never gets "old". There is no difference between the day she was built and now, 11 years later. It is also far less noisy than the production hulls made of less quality finilester.
Each hull has a crash box and 3 watertight bulkheads and 4 watertight Compartments.
Each hull is constructed out of red cedar, which is virtually rot proof, all the other wood used is "Bruynzeel" marine "Ocumee" hard wood 10 years guaranteed ply.

The volume:
  • The cockpit is completely protected by a hard top with headroom of 205 cm (approx. 93"), the dimensions measured on the floor are 200 cm נ250 cm. The door between the cockpit and the salon is of 60 cm wide and 140 cm high.
  • The salon is huge. The dimensions measured on the floor are 400 cm x 380 cm and the headroom is 200 cm everywhere. In the salon there are 2 accesses with steps going to the different hulls. Two stairs are 60 cm wide. All the doors inside LAMBADA are 50 cm wide נ180 cm high.
  • The two forward staterooms are similar and very spacious. When you enter you have from door to bathroom a height of 205 cm. There is one hanging closet and one closet with shelves separated by a settee. The measurements of these closets on the inside are 175 cm high נ30 cm deep נ55 cm wide.
  • On the opposite side is another cupboard under the settee. Each forward stateroom has a queen size bed. The space between the top of the mattresses and the ceiling is 65 cm. Each forward stateroom has its own water faucet with 75 liters of water.
  • The galley is port side on the saloon deck and is ergonomically equipped. The height is 200 cm. The dimensions of the floor space are 100 cm long x 78 cm wide and from wall to wall 127 cm wide נ165 cm long. The galley contains a large fridge/freezer combi with a capacity of 120 liter (approx. 30 gallon) and a freezer with 65 liter (approx. 16 gallon).
  • The aft port stateroom with the same dimensions and queen size bed as the starboard aft stateroom.
  • Going forward from there is a washing machine and a gravity flow river barge diesel heater.
  • A washroom containing the same equipment as the others.
  • A workshop with two benches of 35 cm נ180 cm each. There is a row of cupboards above and underneath the two workbenches.
  • On deck: the width of each side deck is about 70 cm. There are two roofs, one is 410 cm width x 360cm long and covered by 5 solar panels. The dimensions of the hard top over the cockpit the second roof above is 410 cm width נ180 cm long covered by 2 solar panels.
  • The aft deck measures 400 cm נ160 cm
  • Two transoms and two large trampolines.
We hope that with the help of the above-mentioned dimensions added to the layout, the photos and the listing, you will be able to completely realize the space offered on LAMBADA. This is a real 48' catamaran.

 Snapshot
Enhanced with Snapshots

I just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of Wikipedia articles, MySpace profiles, IMDb profiles and Amazon products, display inline videos, RSS, MP3s, photos, stock charts and more. Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you "look ahead," before deciding if you want to follow a link or not. Should you decide this is not for you, just click the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot and opt-out.
